The CWBA hopes to build in 2019 on these outstanding accomplishments of 2018:

  • Obtained Cincinnati Planning Commission and Cincinnati City Council approvals of the neighborhood-developed “Made in Camp” Comprehensive Plan and have begun its implementation.
  • Won a federal $295,000 Community Development Block Grant for acquisition and stabilization of the US Chili building at the gateway of our business district
  • Advocated issues for the Camp, including the Western Hills Viaduct project, the historic Crosley building redevelopment, graffiti and nuisance abatements, traffic safety issues, and the location of the new CPD District 5 Headquarters.
  • Worked with stakeholders in prioritizing the Camp Washington community’s projects for the city’s Spring 2019 Neighborhood Enhancement Program
  • Worked closely with District 5 police to reduce crime in the area, making Camp Washington the safest neighborhood in District 5.
  • Over 400 volunteers helped pick up over 600 bags of trash, mulch trees in our business district, and work in our community gardens and urban farm.
  • The 9th annual golf outing netted over $17,000 for the stabilization of Camp Washington.
  • CWBA supported the very successful 20th Annual River City Picnic, enjoyed by 600 residents.

Each year for the past thirteen years, the Camp Washington Business Association (CWBA) has been both a listener and a voice representing the Camp Washington community. Below is a list of works in progress:

  • Works closely with Cincinnati Police (we have the lowest crime rate in the City).
  • Provide information on available properties to prospective businesses moving to Camp.
  • Schedule monthly Business Association luncheon meetings to communicate important information.
  • Assist the City of Cincinnati with the GO Cincinnati and Camp Washington “Made in Camp” development plan, the blueprint for the area.
  • Provide input on the Hopple Street exchange design and the I-75 reconfiguration.
  • Help organize annual River City Camp Washington community picnic.
  • Regularly meets with both County and City leaders to discuss the needs of the Camp Washington area.
  • Helps support the Camp Washington Urban Farm.
